Hey all, I have been managing operations with a multi-specialty group in the Midwest for approximately four years, and the credentialing process continues to lengthen and frustrate. Chasing down the expired licenses, checking on all hospital affiliations, and waiting for the payers to approve new providers, we have lost the opportunity to see patients earlier and to get revenue. A simple change that assisted was to establish a common checklist that all the docs would use to keep track of their documents, but it is still a colossal waste of time. Has any one of you collaborated with medical credentialing companies to dump this? Did it make things move any faster, or did it have any underplot? Love to hear the real negative/positive comments of those who tried it!
